The Wright County Board of Supervisors on Monday approved a request to allow Economic Development Director Aaron Budweg to apply to the Wright County Charitable Foundation for funding to serve as the required local match for the 2027 Heart of Iowa Regional Housing Trust Fund cycle.
The regional initiative provides financial assistance to low- and moderate-income homeowners for needed repairs and rehabilitation of their primary residences. County officials said the program plays a key role in economic development by preserving existing housing stock, preventing blight and helping residents remain in safe, stable homes.
Supervisors also held a public hearing on the 2025 Wright County Comprehensive Plan. Comments were received regarding publication and notice requirements. No action was taken, as the board plans to review an amended version at a future meeting.
