Hampton-Dumont-CAL will begin the boys basketball playoffs Monday by traveling to North Polk for a 3A Substate 2 first round game, which’ll air on 104.9 KLMJ.
The Bulldogs (7-14) are coming off a regular season in which they made significant strides from the previous season. Brady Harr was among the North Central Conference’s dominant players throughout the season, ranking third in points per game, second in assists per game, first in rebounds per game and first in blocks per game.
North Polk (12-10) has won two straight entering postseason play to get above .500 for the season. Just under half of their shots throughout the season have been three-point attempts, an area Bulldog Coach Matt Lokenvitz says they’ll need to limit.
They’re led by Jack Spieker with 12 points per game. The team has limited turnovers with less than 12 per game.
Pregame coverage will start at 6:45 p.m., followed by the tipoff at 7:00. The winner will advance to a substate semifinal against either #6 (3A) Clear Lake or Charles City.
