
Franklin County Extension and Outreach has announced that the North Central Iowa Research Association will host its annual meeting and educational forum Wednesday, March 25, at the Northern Research Farm, 310 South Main St. in Kanawha.
Topics will include an agricultural market outlook, nitrogen fertilization rates for corn using the N-FACT tool, cover crops and edge-of-field practices, and mental health resources for rural Iowans. Farm leadership will also provide updates on research activities, outlying research farms and a capital campaign tied to a new facility.
Registration and refreshments begin at 8:30 a.m., with the meeting starting at 9 and concluding by 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. The event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration by March 23 is encouraged by calling 641-762-3247 or emailing Angie Rieck-Hinz at amrieck@iastate.edu.
