Allison City Council recap from Feb. 9 meeting

The Allison City Council recently met for its regular session Feb. 9 at City Hall.

Mayor Tim Junker reported that three water shutoffs were required following a review with the deputy utility clerk. He also announced the March 9 meeting has been canceled, with the council scheduled to meet next on March 23.

Joe Conlon, representing Wilder Park, told the council that the park could host about 120 Boy Scouts for tent camping the first weekend in May. The group plans to complete community service projects while working toward merit badges.

Council members discussed a proposed mural design for the Paint Iowa Beautiful grant but opted to delay applying until additional concepts are developed.

Public Works Director Trent Stirling said the city plans to seek bids for sewer jetting and televising roughly 39,000 feet of sewer line on a three- to four-year rotation schedule.
