
The Meservey City Council approved its preliminary fiscal year 2027 budget levy and set upcoming public hearings during its Feb. 9 meeting.
Council members unanimously approved the proposed levy and scheduled a public hearing for March 30 at 5:30 p.m. A special meeting will follow that evening at 6 p.m. to approve the full budget and set an additional public hearing date.
The council also approved the first reading of an ordinance regarding water rates, and set a public hearing for March 9 at 6 p.m.
In other business, council members approved mobile banking on the city’s tablet to allow for remote check deposits, rather than purchasing a $900 check-reading device with a monthly fee.
The council declined a resident’s request to cut trees on city property due to liability concerns and discussed adding a camera to the maintenance shed.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 9 at 6 p.m.
