The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation has released its 2025 impact report, highlighting efforts to fight food insecurity across Iowa.

Through the Haul Out Hunger program, the foundation supports food pantries statewide with frozen pork during the summer months. In 2025, 39,432 pounds of ground pork were distributed over 17 delivery days in June and July. The pork was delivered to 130 food pantries, a 23 percent increase from 2024 and creating more than 137,000 meals for Iowans.

The Operation Christmas Meal program made stops in 16 communities statewide in 2025, including Allison, Iowa Falls and Grundy Center. A total of 27,000 pork loins were distributed at those events. An additional 6,000 pork loins were delivered to the Food Bank of Iowa and the Northeast Iowa Food Bank for distribution to food pantries in 71 counties.
