The campaign of Republican U.S. Senate candidate Jim Carlin says it renewed its call for a debate with fellow Republican Ashley Hinson ahead of Iowa’s June 2 GOP primary, citing a February 17 invitation that the campaign says has not received a reply.

Hinson’s campaign has received endorsements from national Republican figures, including President Donald Trump, Senate Majority Whip John Thune, Senate Republican Chair Tim Scott, and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, as well as Senator Joni Ernst and Governor Kim Reynolds. Carlin has been endorsed by Iowa state legislators, including Senators Doug Campbell of Mason City and Sandy Salmon of Janesville.

As of now, neither campaign has confirmed a debate date; both candidates are seeking the Republican nomination to succeed the retiring Senator Joni Ernst.
