Authorities in Red Oak arrested 61-year-old Leslie Ray Sankey Jr. Thursday morning on a Butler County warrant for third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony that carries up to 10 years in prison and mandatory sex offender registration.
In an email to RadioOnTheGo News, Butler County Sheriff Jason Johnson said Sankey was originally charged in 2012 but left the state during the investigation. Johnson said they had a statewide warrant for his arrest and discovered that he had moved back to Iowa and had him arrested.
Sankey was transported Friday morning to Butler County where he is being held to stand trial.
