A Mason City man has been sentenced to 13 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Kevin Knight, 45, was sentenced March 6 in U.S. District Court in Sioux City after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and three counts of distributing methamphetamine.
Federal prosecutors say Knight was involved in a methamphetamine trafficking operation based in Mason City between January 2024 and February 2025. Investigators documented Knight actively participating in drug distribution during that time.
U.S. District Judge Leonard T. Strand sentenced Knight to 156 months in prison. He must also serve five years of supervised release after completing his prison term.
The case was investigated by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ron Timmons.
