The Iowa Falls City Council met in special session last week to address several items of city business. Council members approved a resolution adopting the City of Iowa Falls fee schedule but then passed a motion to reconsider the addition of reconnect and supply fees for water and wastewater services included in that schedule.
Fire Chief Scott Eisentrager also presented a proposal from the Fire Fighter’s Association to purchase a Quick Attack fire truck. Following discussion, the council directed city staff to schedule a future workshop to review the proposal in more detail.
The council also discussed the property rehabilitation program for 408 Park Avenue and approved a resolution tentatively approving the sale of the property. A public hearing on the sale is set for March 16th during the council’s regular meeting. Another March 16th public hearing was scheduled on the status of the Community Development Block Grant for the Princess Cafe upper story housing project.
