Registration is now open for the new NIACC Career Center in Franklin County, offering area high school students the chance to earn college credentials while still completing their high school diploma.

Beginning in the fall of 2026, students can receive hands-on training in health careers, including certified nursing assistant certification, as well as construction and welding. The program is designed for students who prefer applied, hands-on learning.

During the first year, seniors may complete a one-year certificate, while juniors will begin a two-year pathway that allows them to graduate with industry-recognized credentials.

Valeria Gonzalez, director of the NIACC Career Center in Franklin County, says the center will help students gain confidence, direction and practical skills while also supporting the region’s workforce.

Families could save up to $10,000 in tuition costs. Students can register through their high school counselors or their NIACC College and Career Transition Counselor. More information is available at niacc.edu/franklin-cc.
