The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a high wind warning in effect for Butler, Cerro Gordo, Franklin, Grundy, Hardin and Wright counties in the broadcast area from 10:00 p.m. tonight until 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning.
Hazards are forecasted to include sustained wind speeds of 30-35 mph with the potential for gusts of 50-60+ mph. The NWS also cautions drivers to be alert for strong crosswinds while driving on bridges or overpasses and objects blowing in your path.
