The Meservey City Council approved several measures during its regular meeting Monday evening, including an amendment to the city’s water rate ordinance and renewal of the city’s insurance policy.

Following a public hearing with no comments, the council unanimously approved an ordinance adjusting water rates and waived the third reading of the measure.

Council members also reviewed the city’s insurance renewal. Officials said premiums will increase about 10 percent, partly due to the addition of a new well. The council approved the renewal and voted to raise the deductible to $2,500, which will reduce the overall premium increase.

Payments related to the city’s new well project were also approved, including a pay application of about $27,000 to Cahoy Pump Service.

The Meservey City Council will hold a tax levy public hearing March 30 at 5:30 p.m., followed by a special meeting at 6 p.m. The next regular council meeting is scheduled for April 13 at 6 p.m.
