According to a press release, Republican candidate Rocky Damiano of Iowa Falls has filed paperwork to run for Iowa Senate District 27, submitting his candidacy with the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office last week.
Damiano says his campaign platform includes defending property rights against the use of eminent domain, providing conservative leadership for District 27, addressing human trafficking, improving water quality, responding to rising cancer rates and supporting small businesses.
Damiano and his wife, Karla, own Nimrod Meats in Iowa Falls and have four children.
Iowa Senate District 27 includes Hardin, Grundy and Poweshiek counties, along with parts of Tama and Black Hawk counties. The primary election is scheduled for June 2.
