The Latimer City Council addressed infrastructure, property matters and routine maintenance during its March 11th meeting.

Council members discussed concerns with the city’s lift station running more frequently during heavy rains, with further evaluation planned. Officials also reported progress on city equipment, including reviewing the value of the garbage truck, and noted the fire department received insurance funds for repairs to a damaged truck.

The council approved an amendment to the current fiscal year budget and authorized the conveyance of property in Harriman’s First Addition to Latimer Development.

In other business, the council approved removal of an old digital sign near the post office and the final eight dead ash trees in local parks and along the bike trail. A lawn spraying contract for 2026 was awarded to Koenen Lawn Care, LLC.

Council members also approved July 25th as the date for the annual Latimer Fun Day celebration.
