The Rowan Historical Society will host its first annual Mike Thompson Memorial St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration Saturday, honoring a beloved community figure.
Known as the town’s resident leprechaun, Thompson brought joy to the parade and celebration for more than 20 years before his passing last November. This year’s event celebrates his lasting spirit and dedication.
Festivities begin with lunch served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the United Church in Rowan, featuring Irish stew or hot dogs with chips. A free will donation will be taken to support the historical society. A bake sale at the church will offer a variety of homemade treats. The parade will follow at 1:30 p.m., continuing a cherished tradition in Thompson’s memory.
