A candidate for the Iowa House is preparing to take part in a national policy trip focused on agriculture issues.
Beau Klaver, a candidate for Iowa House District 55, will travel to Washington, D.C., March 24 through 26 as part of the Iowa Farm Bureau’s National Policy Trip.
During the visit, Klaver will meet with Iowa’s congressional delegation, including members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, as well as officials with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He says the goal is to advocate for issues impacting Iowa farmers.
Klaver says he plans to address rising input costs, including fertilizer and fuel, along with ongoing supply chain concerns that are affecting farm profitability. He also says he will advocate for year-round E-15 availability.
Klaver is attending as the Hamilton County delegate and will join other county representatives and national Farm Bureau leadership during the trip.
Following the visit, Klaver says he plans to meet with district residents to share updates and gather feedback on the issues discussed in Washington.
Iowa House District 55 covers all of Franklin and Hamilton counties as well as parts of Wright and Story counties.
