Directors elected to serve Butler County REC

The Butler County Rural Electric Cooperative re-elected two incumbent directors and added one new member during its annual meeting Wednesday.

Re-elected to the board were Tim Schrage of Allison and Grant Greenzweig of Charles City. Mark Chambers of Marble Rock was elected as a new director. More than 400 votes were cast by mail-in ballot.

Following the meeting, the board elected its officers. Gary Poppe of Nashua will serve as president, with Share Brandt of Allison as vice president. Troy Feldman of Greene was elected treasurer, while Schrage will serve as secretary. Allyn Harms of Clarksville was named assistant secretary-treasurer.

The cooperative provides electric service to more than 6,600 meters across Bremer, Butler, Chickasaw and Floyd counties.
