The final two defendants connected to the theft of memorial and historical plaques in Franklin County were sentenced this week in District Court.
In January, Rachel Card, of Hampton, and Lauren Johnson of Dumont, both pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting third-degree theft in Franklin County District Court. The case involved the removal of bronze plaques from veterans’ graves, cemetery monuments and historical markers at multiple sites across the county.
Card and Johnson were each sentenced to 30 days in jail and placed on supervised probation for two years. Johnson was also ordered to pay $30,305.49 in joint restitution with two other codefendants, while Card was ordered to pay $15,152.74 with the same codefendants.
The codefendants in the case have already been sentenced.
