The start of the season is just around the corner for the Wright County Broncos boys soccer team. With most of the lineup returning from last season, Head Coach Ethan Krogman says the team returns an abundance of experience.
“This season is, you know, a whole another year older as of last year, you know, I only lost five seniors, so I’ve retained everybody else,” says Krogman. “So more experience, older group, you know, more physicality and just a growth mindset and, you know, just pushing forward to build on top of everything that we’ve started the last few years.”
As early practices have already begun, Krogman says that experience is also providing cohesiveness.
“Communication is just always a huge aspect of soccer as it is any other sport, but these guys are getting to the point where they can just look at each other and know kind of what to do,” says Krogman. “It’s almost telepathic and it’s almost kind of scary when you see them do the things and not say a word. So, you know, that’s kind of the biggest thing that’s kind of come out of this group playing together for so long.”
Last season, the team finished with a 4-10-2 record which was highlighted by a season sweep of the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets.
The Broncos will look to continue growing their program into the 2025-26 season. They open the season up on the road against Iowa Falls-Alden on March 30.
