A Hamilton County man has pleaded guilty to federal methamphetamine charges.

According to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa, 49-year-old Anthony Neuroth of Kamrar entered a guilty plea March 25 in federal court in Sioux City.

Neuroth was convicted of one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and one count of distribution of methamphetamine. Authorities say he admitted that between November 2022 and February 2024, he conspired with others to distribute more than 150 grams of methamphetamine.

Court documents state Neuroth also distributed half-ounce quantities of methamphetamine on four occasions in 2022 and 2023 to an individual cooperating with law enforcement.

Officials say Neuroth has a prior federal conviction for meth distribution dating back to 2007.

Sentencing will be scheduled after a presentence report is completed. Neuroth remains in custody of the U.S. Marshal. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and could receive up to life imprisonment, along with a possible $8 million fine and at least eight years of supervised release.

The case was investigated by multiple agencies, including the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement and Webster County law enforcement.
