Iowa Falls-Alden will host Wright County in the boys soccer season opener Monday. It’ll air on 104.9 KLMJ and RadioOnTheGo’s YouTube channel.
Coming off a winless season last year, the Cadets enter the season with ample experience at the varsity level after losing only two starters to graduation. Brandon Asaeda is back for his senior season after leading the team in goals scored last year, but they’ll need to replace the starting goalkeeper. Head Coach Jake Kaune says it’ll likely be an intense battle against the Broncos.
All three meetings last season were decided by one goal.
Wright County went 4-10 last season and similarly has an experienced roster, with all seven players who scored goals last season returning. Head Coach Ethan Krogman says playing on an artificial surface adds an extra element to the season opener.
