Eastern Iowa could see a few strong thunderstorms as part of an active stretch of weather through the end of the week. The National Weather Service says there is a marginal risk, level 1 out of 5, for severe storms in southeast Iowa tonight (Tue), with large hail and damaging wind gusts the primary concerns. The marginal risk continues tomorrow (Wed) and Thursday across portions of southern and eastern Iowa, and forecasters are also monitoring another possible severe weather window on Friday.
While eastern Iowa deals with storm chances, northern Iowa could see a brief wintry mix Wednesday night into early Thursday as temperatures fall near freezing.
Today (Tue) in our area the forecast calls for partly sunny skies and windy conditions again with a high near 58. Rain is possible tomorrow (Wed) afternoon and precipitation chances continue through Thursday, with periods of steady rainfall expected. Additional showers and thunderstorms are possible Friday into early Saturday as this unsettled pattern continues.
