The action came during the board’s regular meeting Tuesday at the courthouse in Hampton. Supervisors unanimously approved all three readings and adopted Ordinance 2026A, which temporarily halts new permit applications for data center projects.

The board opened a public hearing on the ordinance at 9:15 a.m., but no public comments were received before the hearing was closed.

In other business, supervisors set April 14 at 10 a.m. for a public hearing on the fiscal year 2027 budget.
