Iowa Falls and Alden officials examine long-term school challenges

Officials in the Iowa Falls and Alden school districts are continuing discussions about the future, focusing on long-term challenges and possible changes to better serve students. During a joint meeting in February, officials presented “current realities,” highlighting concerns related to enrollment, finances and sustainability.

One concept under consideration is a unified elementary system, which would group students by grade level in the same building rather than splitting them between communities. District leaders emphasized that no decisions have been made.

Over the next year, a study committee will further examine options and gather feedback. As part of that process, families, staff and community members are encouraged to share their thoughts through a newly released survey.

You can find a link to the survey here.
