The Wright County girls soccer team enters the 2026 season with a mix of experience and emerging skill, giving Head Coach Miriam Meinke reason for optimism in her second year leading the program.
The Broncos return a large senior class while also incorporating a wave of younger players expected to contribute early.
Meinke says she is eager to see the group take the field and continue building the program’s foundation.
“I’m most excited to truly see my girls get out there and play,” Meinke says. “Their love for soccer has been shown throughout the years, and it’s just fun to see the program growing. I’m excited to see them out there and do what they love to do.”
That growth includes an influx of underclassmen who have impressed during early practices and could play key roles right away.
“We do have quite a bit of freshmen and sophomores who are gonna be, and new girls that have been joining us,” Meinke says. “We do have some freshmen girls who are looking to be our starters for next week or for this week, who have really shown really hard work at practice, and they’ve shown that they are ready to play.”
With goals focused on continued progress, Wright County aims to continue building its program.
The Broncos open the season on the road April 2 at Clear Lake.
