The #12 (1A) Dike-New Hartford girls soccer team was scheduled to begin its season Thursday by hosting GCGR, but it was postponed to Monday due to weather and field conditions.
The Wolverines are coming off last year’s 11-6-1 season, and will have a fair amount of returning varsity talent. After each scoring 10 goals last year, Ruby Varney and Payton Foster are the top scorers back, but Head Coach Emma Eden expects to add more versatility to the lineup.
It’s a gauntlet of an early-season schedule that’ll feature the Wolverines facing four other ranked teams in the first six games. They’ll visit #3 (1A) Hudson and #4 (1A) Denver, with home games against #15 (1A) Aplington-Parkersburg and #5 (1A) Center Point-Urbana, all in the first half of the season.
Monday’s game will start at 5:30 p.m.
