The Hampton-Dumont-CAL and Iowa Falls-Alden soccer teams will meet Monday. The boys will play in Iowa Falls on 104.9 KLMJ and RadioOnTheGo’s YouTube channel. The girls will play in Hampton on 99 The Wave.
The Cadet boys (0-1) started their season with last week’s 1-0 loss to Wright County, then had Thursday’s game at Webster City postponed. Head Coach Jake Kaune says he saw progress from several players in the season opener.
Hampton-Dumont-CAL (0-0-1) began its season with last week’s 2-2 tie against Clear Lake, then had Thursday’s game against Garner Hayfield Ventura postponed. The goals were scored by Christian Zavala and Jesus Flores, both assisted by Hunter Rieken.
It’ll be the season opener for both girls teams. The Cadets graduated four starters from last year’s team that went 12-5, with many of its top goal scorers back this year. The Bulldogs graduated three starters from last year’s 0-14-1 team. They’ll go for the program’s first win since 2023.
Both games will start at 5:30 p.m. with pregame coverage at 5:25.
