Meservey City Council meeting recap from April 13

The Meservey City Council approved hiring a new city attorney and took action on several infrastructure and property issues during its regular meeting April 13.

In new business, council members approved hiring Jason Palmer of Lamson, Dugan and Murray as city attorney following an introduction and discussion.

The council also approved bids from Lauen Excavating to demolish two abandoned properties, choosing to have both structures buried rather than hauled away.

Council members also reviewed a proposed change order to address a drainage issue on Minnesota Street, with additional financial details expected at a future meeting.

A public hearing on the city’s budget is scheduled for April 22 at 5:30 p.m. The next regular meeting of the council is set for May 11 at 6 p.m.
