North Iowa Area Community College is marking Community College Month this April with events aimed at highlighting the role of two-year institutions in workforce development and economic opportunity.
Community College Month is a nationwide campaign led by the Association of Community College Trustees to raise awareness about the value of community and technical colleges.
As part of the observance, NIACC will host two free courses open to the public at its campus in Mason City. The first course, “Staying Steady When Emotions Run High,” is scheduled for April 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. and will focus on managing stress and de-escalating difficult situations in professional settings.
A second course, “Motivation: A Practical Guide to Motivating Employees,” will be offered April 28 from 9 to 10 a.m. and will explore factors that influence employee motivation.
Both classes are free, though registration is required and space is limited.
