The Butler County Extension office will host a Healthy and Homemade Family Cooking Class next week in Clarksville.
The class will be held Thursday, April 30, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Clarksville Public Library. Families will make cowboy caviar and sample salsa verde chicken made in a slow cooker.
Lesley Milius, program coordinator for Butler County Extension, says the class will focus on quick meal ideas and the importance of families spending time together during busy summer schedules.
“We’re going to talk about why it’s important to share meal times,” Milius says. “As we all know, summer is fast approaching on us. The school year is almost over and we’re going to need some of those fast family meals and also just a way to remember that we need to touch base with each other.”
Milius says the class is designed to teach family togetherness while also providing quick and easy recipes.
