
The West Fork school board approved its 2026–27 budget Monday, setting the district’s property tax levy at $13.01 per $1,000 of assessed property value and adopting a budget guarantee resolution to protect funding stability. The board also scheduled a May 18 public hearing for a current-year budget amendment and approved support staff contracts, along with higher substitute pay for next year.
In staffing changes, members accepted the resignations of two science teachers and approved a new head volleyball coach. The board also cleared the graduating class of 2026, totaling 44 students, pending final requirements.
Officials reviewed a potential solar energy project, with more discussion planned, and approved the purchase of a 2024 Ford Transit van for $41,890. Additional updates included ongoing phase II construction work, upcoming network upgrades, and possible wrestling co-op discussions with Belmond-Klemme.
