The Aplington-Parkersburg girls track & field team had a special recognition at Monday’s home meet.
After the 200-meter dash, the 2001 state championship team was recognized for its 25-year anniversary, along with former head coach Al Kerns. Then, the meet formerly known as the AP Girls Invite was officially renamed the Al Kerns Relays.
Members of the 2001 team in attendance also had an opportunity to share about their experiences with members of the current team.
AP Girls Track & Field will return to action at Thursday’s conference meet at East Marshall.
