Make It OK Walk set for Thursday in Clarion

clarion-city

Community Health Center of Clarion will host a Make It OK Walk Thursday to raise awareness about mental health and reduce stigma surrounding mental illness.

The walk begins at noon at Community Health Center of Clarion. Participants will walk downtown before returning to the health center.

The event is part of the Make It OK campaign through Iowa’s Healthiest State Initiative, a statewide effort that encourages open conversations and greater understanding of mental illness.

Community members of all ages are invited to participate. Organizers are encouraging participants to wear green, the official color for mental health awareness, as Thursday also marks National Wear Green Day.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. The Clarion event is being promoted as the community’s first annual Make It OK Walk.

Questions may be directed to Becky Ramsey at Community Health Center of Clarion at 515-532-3343.
