The Spartans (5-0, 4-0 NICL) are off to a strong start to the season, coming off Tuesday’s 15-0, four-inning win over Sumner-Fredericksburg. Judd Jirovsky and Asher Lutterman are each hitting .429, and Ethan Meester is hitting .417. On the mound, the pitching staff has combined for a 1.08 ERA.
Columbus (4-5, 2-1 NICL) last defeated Aplington-Parkersburg 10-0 in five innings Monday. Bryce Noland leads with a .308 batting average, followed by Drew Schultz at .292.
The game will take place after the Twins vs. White Sox game, with the first pitch scheduled for approximately 5:00 p.m.
