BCLUW had a very high scoring night against North Tama but the Red Hawks would not go away easily. North Tama able to start of the scoring in the 1st inning with 2 runs thanks to two RBI’s; one thanks to Bryce Dostal and one from Braylen Stickles. BCLUW Quickly responded with three runs of there own and the go ahead RBI single from Starting pitcher Damien Halladay. That would set the tone for the night as BCLUW would score atleast one run per inning with a scoring run of 3 runs from the 1st then continuing with 2, 3, 1, and 3 with innings 2 thru 6. BCLUW would have the lead going into the top of the 7th with a score of 13-9. North Tama would not settle as a lead off Double from Clayton Williams who would end the night with a Perfect On Base Percentage and 4 hits on the night. Kayven Morris would follow the lead off with a RBI Triple and a few AB’s later Maddox Rousch would get himself an RBI Triple, and then Griffen Hall would lay down a Sacrifice Bunt to tie the game. BCLUW would then enter the Bottom of the 7th as Maverick Grafke was able to get on base with a single but was then thrown out stealing for 2nd to end the 7th inning. Extra Innings would follow as Senior Maverick Grafke Was now at the mound taking over pitching duties. Maverick would well make up for getting thrown out stealing as on Senior Night he would have three strikeouts in the 8th inning keeping North Tama scoreless. BCLUW would step up with a leadoff single from Will Feldpausch but ultimately would fizzle out now heading into the 9th Inning. Maverick steps up AGAIN throwing Three strikeouts in Three At Bats as BCLUW Gets another chance in the bottom of the Ninth. A lead off Walk from Damien Halladay makes him the potential tying run. a Sacrifice Bunt and a Fielders Choice puts Halladay at 3rd base with 2 outs and the Senior Maverick Grafke steps up for his 6th AB of the night. Pitch comes in and goes WILD past the catcher hits the back fence and Halladay takes off for home, Catcher gets to it… throws back home with the pitcher covering home. Halladay slides into home as the ball comes in nearly at the same time…tag is attempted and THE BALL POPS OUT. Halladay is safe and the Comets WIN Senior Night 14-13 in extra innings. Maverick’s Pitching in extra innings proves to be enough as Halladay slides in for the walk off run. Great performances as well from Eathan Petermeir with 3 total RBI’s off 4 hits including one Triple, and Will Feldpausch with 4 RBI’s with 4 hits including a Double. BCLUW gets the much needed win on senior night as the long 3 and a half hour game proves to be worth it for the Comets as we approach the Postseason.
