
The Franklin County Board of Supervisors approved updated county depositories and operating transfers for county departments during its regular meeting Tuesday.
The board approved a resolution naming county depositories under Iowa Code Chapter 12C. The resolution increases the maximum balance for First Bank Hampton from $20 million to $30 million and increases the Iowa Public Agency Investment Trust maximum from $4.5 million to $9 million. Maximum balances remained at $9 million for First Security Bank & Trust, United Bank & Trust Co. and Green Belt Bank & Trust.
Supervisors also approved operating transfers from the General Basic Fund, including $193,390 to conservation and $52,826 to veterans affairs. Both were listed as 50% general operating transfers.
The board approved memorandums of understanding for CICS employees for fiscal year 2027 and amended county policies on reimbursable expenses, credit cards and claims processing.
Supervisors also approved a change request from Carl A. Nelson for the courthouse electrical update.
County Auditor Katy Flint told supervisors Senate File 2472, Iowa’s property tax reform law, is expected to cost the county $266,784 in credits that used to be backfilled by the state by the end of fiscal year 2028.
