
While most fall sports teams will wait until next week to begin official practices, girls tennis practice has begun across Iowa. Coming off a season where they qualified for the Class 1A team state tournament, the energy and expectations are high at Dike-New Hartford. Head Coach Reegan Zinkula.
Four of last year’s six singles starters are back this season. #1 player Addy Joslin and #4 player Autumn Meester graduated, but each remaining player is back. Lauren Muller played #2 singles and qualified for the state doubles tournament with Joslin, and could be tasked with taking over the top spot.
The schedule ramps up immediately. They’ll join Webster City at a triangular at Ballard to get the season started on Friday. Zinkula says the schedule is going to provide some key tests.
Friday’s first match will start at 12:00 p.m.
