The West Marshall High School football team is holding its preseason camp this week as the Trojans continue preparing for the 2026 season. The varsity squad will travel to Creston on Friday for a team camp before opening the regular season at home against South Hardin High School on August 28.
Head Coach Cody Hackett says the week is designed to get the team up to speed after a relatively quiet summer.
“There are a lot of things we accomplish during camp. We didn’t do a lot this summer, so this is our opportunity to get things going. We start installing our schemes, working through drills, and putting in our offense and defense right away. It’s about getting the players caught up, familiar with what we’ve done in previous years, and ready to compete.”
With a scrimmage at Creston scheduled for Friday, Hackett says the team is working with a sense of urgency.
“We have to get as much installed as we can before Friday so we’re ready to perform well down there.”
The Trojans will continue their preparations throughout August before opening the 2026 season at home against South Hardin on August 28.
