A Cedar Falls man is dead following a crash on Highway 218 in Black Hawk County. The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened around 9:20 Sunday night (8/2), on northbound U.S. 218 near mile marker 181. The Iowa State Patrol says 58-year-old Jeffrey Scott Millen was riding a BMW motorcycle northbound near mile marker 181 around 9:20 p.m. when he struck the back of a Ford pickup.
Millen was taken to Allen Hospital in Waterloo by Waterloo Fire and Rescue, where he died from his injuries. The pickup was driven by 20-year-old John Paul Lenz of White Deer, Texas. Lenz was towing a travel trailer at the time. The report does not indicate that Lenz was injured.
State Patrol says the crash is still under investigation, and investigators have not released additional details about what led to the collision. The Waterloo Police Department, Iowa DOT, Waterloo Fire and Rescue, and additional State Patrol personnel assisted with the investigation. The crash happened Sunday (8/2), northbound on Highway 218 near mile marker 181.
