A three-vehicle chain-reaction crash was reported Sunday near the intersection of Highway 65 and Seventh Avenue in Hampton.
Franklin County Sheriff Aaron Dodd tells RadioOnTheGo News a southbound vehicle slowed to turn left onto Seventh Avenue, causing two vehicles behind it to stop. A 2014 Chevrolet driven by Toby Braun of Latimer was the first vehicle behind the turning vehicle. A 2018 Chevrolet driven by Megan Jones of Hampton was behind Braun.
A 2012 Ford operated by Mitchell Kelvie of Lakeville, Minnesota, then struck the rear of Jones’ vehicle, causing Jones’ vehicle to strike the rear of Braun’s vehicle.
No major injuries were reported. Franklin General Ambulance responded, and one person declined further medical care or transportation. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Hampton Police Department and Franklin General Ambulance responded to the scene.
