It took a while for either team to find their offense on Friday Night in State Center. South Hardin on their first 3 possessions threw an interception, fumbled and had to punt on a 3 and out. West Marshall had 2 straight 3 and outs then missed a 27 yard field goal on their 3rd drive. The first quarter would wind up with a scoreless tie which South Hardin getting 20 yards and West Marshall 47 Yards. Everything changed in the second quarter for South Hardin. After have to punt for the second time South Hardin would hold West Marshall to a 3 and out to force another punt.
On the ensuing possession South Hardin would finally get some offense at Junior QB Braden Weig would connect with Colby Zollar for a 50 Yard Touchdown pass to make the score 6 to 0 after the XP was missed. The next possession for West Marshall Blayk Hart would be picked off by Aspen Briggs. On the first play Weig would connect with Regan Eide for a 62 yards touchdown pass but once again the extra point would be missed. Hart would then throw his second interceptions which would lead to a 6 play South Hardin drive capped off on a 1 yard touchdown run for Kam Adams. The Tigers would go for 2 and convert to make the score 20 to 0.South Hardin would lead 20 to 0 at halftime.
South Hardin would continue to attack the West Marshall secondary in the 3rd quarter as Weig connected with Williamson for a 69 Yard score and finally Spindler for a 64 yard touchdown. Weig would finish his Tigers starting QB debut 14 for 22 for 348 yards 4 touchdowns and 1 Interception. The South Hardin defense was dominant holding West Marshall to just 126 yards of total offense 49 on the ground and 77 through the air. South Hardin couldn’t get much going on the ground either as they were held to just 55 yards rushing. Kam Adams had 18 carries for 52 yards and the 1 touchdown. West Marshall QB Blayk Hart finished 4 of 15 for 77 yards he rushed 17 times for 41 yards.
