The Aplington-Parkersburg football team will play its non-district finale Friday at Garner Hayfield Ventura, a game that’ll air on 99 The Wave and RadioOnTheGo’s YouTube channel.
The Falcons (2-0) will look to carry the momentum of wins over Dike-New Hartford and Grundy Center into the final tuneup for district play. After rushing for 73 yards last week, Head Coach Zach Pfantz says that’s an area where he hopes to see improvement.
Despite the low production in the ground game, Harrison Schultz passed for 160 yards on 10 completions.
The Cardinals (0-2) have lost in blowouts against Osage and West Hancock, but have averaged more than 300 rushing yards. Having attempted only 12 passes, it’s a run-heavy system with three capable backs.
Pregame coverage will start at 6:15 p.m., followed by the kickoff at 7:00.
