The #4 (1A) Aplington-Parkersburg football team will host Jesup Friday for Week 6.
The Falcons (5-0, 2-0 1A-4) will look to build upon last week’s 56-0 win over Sumner-Fredericksburg, their second straight shutout win. Taking on a winless Jesup team, Head Coach Zach Pfantz says they’ll need to be ready to defend an offense that has the ability to create some big plays.
The J-Hawks fell 28-0 to Union last week to move to 0-2 in district play. They’ve allowed more than 40 points in three games so far. Junior Tate Pfantz says they can’t overlook the opponent as they continue to battle for a top seed in the playoffs.
As part of the evening, recognition will be held for the 25th anniversary of the 2001 state championship team and the 30th anniversary of the 1996 runner-up team. Many alumni from those teams are expected to be in attendance for the celebration.
The kickoff will be at 7:00 p.m.
