The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys golf team competed at Thursday’s Des Moines Christian Invite at Jester Park Golf Course near Granger. They placed eighth with 390 strokes, finishing a stretch of three straight days of meets. They’ll be back in action Tuesday at Algona.
The boys tennis team fell 9-0 at home to Grundy Center. Jaxson Rew/Alexis Sosa at #2 doubles were the closest competitors, falling 8-3. At 1-4, they’ll return to action Tuesday at home against Webster City.
The girls tennis team fell 5-4 at Grundy Center. Abby Drier won 8-5 at #1 singles, Ashley Chipahua won 8-4 at #2 singles, Yesi Valenzuela won 8-6 at #4 singles, and Drier/Valenzuela won 8-5 at #1 doubles. At 0-5, they’ll return to action Monday at home against Clear Lake.
The girls soccer game at Garner Hayfield Ventura was cancelled.
The boys soccer team won 3-1 at Garner Hayfield Ventura. All goals were scored in the first half. Christian Zavala led the Bulldogs with two and Fernando Mota had one. At 3-1-2, they’ll return to action Thursday, April 24 at home against Clear Lake.
