The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys track & field team will compete at home for the first time this season in a boys invitational Monday. It’ll feature teams from several conferences and all four enrollment classes. It’ll also be Senior Night, where the class of four will be recognized. Head Coach Dan Aalbers.
“We don’t have a ton of seniors, and sometimes that senior year you’ve kind of done your football or your wrestling or whatever, and sometimes track isn’t the highest priority,” Aalbers says. “But these guys have been out for all four years, and I really appreciate Rem Powers, Isaac Sauke, Colin Bird and Wyatt Dean. We don’t have the number of seniors, but I really appreciate the guys I do have and made it through all four years. I like that and it impresses me”
The Bulldogs are coming off a fourth place finish at last week’s Clear Lake Invitational. The meet will start at 4:30.
The girls tennis team (0-5) will go for its first win when it hosts Clear Lake (1-2). In their last outing, the Bulldogs held close in a 5-4 loss to Grundy Center last week. It’ll start at 4:15 at Progress Park.
