Belmond-Klemme Summer Sports Will Visit North Union on Wednesday

The Belmond-Klemme softball team will battle to remain undefeated and the baseball team will look for their first win of the season as they take on North Union on Wednesday.

Belmond-Klemme softball (3-0) opened the season on a roll offensively with two double digit wins over Bishop Garrigan and Eagle Grove and a 6-1 win over Lake Mills. Kaylen Morris in the circle has a 3.33 ERA, 29 strikeouts in 21 innings. Morris also leads the Broncos with 10 RBI. 

North Union (3-0) last time out won 6-2 over Forest City on Friday. Ainsley Ulrich is the Warriors ace with a 1.31 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 16 innings. Shallie Walders has driven six runs to lead the team.

The Broncos will look to break through for their first win over the Warriors since 2009.

First pitch is at 6:00 p.m. in Swea City.

Belmond-Klemme baseball (0-5) enters off their most competitive game of the season falling 7-5 to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura at Principal Park in Des Moines on Monday. The Broncos are working on timely hitting to help elevate a three runs per game average. Braden Dougherty leads the team with three RBI.

North Union (2-2) most recently fell 4-1 to Forest City on Friday. The Warriors about even in their margin of runs scored with nine per game to runs allowed at seven per game. The Warriors are also active on the base pads with 15 stolen bases. Max Merrill is their top hitter with .417 average and five RBI.

The Broncos will look for their first win over the Warriors in the Bound Era. 

First pitch is at 7:30 p.m. in Bancroft.
