The North Butler softball team, after being rained out on Monday, locked down a solid non-conference 4-0 road win against BCLUW on Tuesday, handing the Comets their second loss.
North Butler opened the game, plating two runs in the first. The Bearcats added some breathing room with two more runs in the third for a 4-0 lead. The Bearcats defense kept a Comets offense off the board, that was averaging seven runs per game.
Kamri Groen, in the circle for the Bearcats, pitched a complete game shutout allowing four hits with 11 strikeouts. Mackenzie Shultz, Marcy Allan, Eden Wix and Grace Pittenger each drove in a run.
North Butler (8-7) will look to avenge an early season Top of Iowa East loss to Newman Catholic (9-1) when the programs meet on Wednesday in Allison at 6:00.
