Monday, the Clarksville City Council continued to discuss water rate increases. Mayor Jerald Heuer stated they would look at a large increase in water rates this year and then small increases each of the next few years. Council member Jennifer Kielman suggested a 3% increase this year. A 5% increase was suggested during the last council meeting. No other action was taken by the council on the matter.
In other business, the Clarksville City Council approved the hire of Hunter Fasse to a full-time maintenance position, approved an employee wage correction for the current fiscal year and discussed IT changes and increased costs for computer updates. The council then approved to move forward with the IT updates as presented.
