A Latimer man already facing serious charges is now facing an additional felony count. According to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Nicholas Franklin Passehl has been served with a new Franklin County warrant for conspiracy to commit a non-forcible felony. He remains held in the Hardin County Jail.
Passehl was originally arrested on July 21 by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department on two other Franklin County warrants—one for three counts of second-degree sexual abuse, and another for unauthorized possession of an offensive weapon. He’s being held on $80,000 cash-only bond. If convicted on all charges, he could face up to 80 years in prison.
Passehl’s father, Jerry W. Passehl of Latimer, was arrested on July 31 on a charge of conspiracy to commit witness tampering. That charge carries a no-bond provision. As of Friday morning, he remained in custody pending an initial court appearance.
Both cases remain under investigation.
